Despite being one of the largest and most intriguing structures in the city of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, the historic Mooreland Mansion, formerly known as Ashfelt Manor, sits abandoned and open to the elements further deteriorating. The mansion and the 2.96 acres it sits on hit the market for $49,500 on April 18, 2020 and just four days later it’s been labelled as pending. The Romanesque Revival mansion was built in 1891 by Colonel Daniel Lawson Moore for his wife, Miss Minnie Ball, and while the architect is unknown, the architecture has been compared to that of Clarke & Loomis. The Mooreland Mansion previously sold at a foreclosure auction to a bank for $329,465. The current listing describes the offering as a building site which includes a home. “Due to health and safety concerns, no one may enter the home. Land is being sold as-is where is.” The Mooreland Mansion and the 2.96 acre property is on the market for $49,500 with a pending offer with Todd Hyatt of Lois Ann Disponett Real Estate.
