Kilberry Castle is located just outside the village of Kilberry and was built in the 15th century. The Campbell clan took up the management of the land in 1550, and the castle has been in the family ever since. Some believe that the castle may have been initially built as a defensive fort to guard a church against Viking raids sometime in 800 CE
